How This Centre Works

Suhail Ahmad Bhat
The Centre Facilitator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Smartpur Centre, delivering digital and governance services, assisting beneficiaries in accessing government schemes and online services, coordinating centre activities, maintaining records, supporting programme implementation and ensuring smooth service delivery to the community.
Suhail Ahmad Bhat’s story showcases his remarkable perseverance and tenacity. While navigating his Master’s in Chemistry, he encountered formidable financial hurdles and emotional distress, compounded by his father’s labour-intensive job and multiple family health challenges. A brief academic stint offered temporary respite, but struggles persisted. The Smartpur project proved a watershed moment, catapulting Suhail into financial stability and enabling him to support his family with pride. He now channels his energy into empowering his community, harnessing Smartpur’s potential to drive change. This transformation has instilled a sense of purpose, allowing him to balance family responsibilities with academic aspirations.
Our Initiatives Transforming Lives

Community Context
Who we serve
At Smartpur Centres, we serve diverse beneficiaries through the delivery of essential services, digital literacy programs for children, combined awareness and financial literacy camps and skill-based training for men and women. We further provide home-visit support services to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Our interventions also reach a significant proportion of the Scheduled Tribe population.
Challenges addressed
Smartpur Centre Wallarhama addressed access barriers through proactive outreach and institutional advocacy. Dedicated Awareness Programmes, E-Filing Camps and Mutation Camps support residents in preparing, updating, and submitting applications. The teams also liaise directly with banks to resolve financial inclusion bottlenecks and coordinate with key Line Departments — Social Welfare, Health, Revenue and Labour — to streamline approvals for student scholarships, health benefits, and labour welfare packages. This advocacy bridges the gap between eligible rural beneficiaries and their statutory entitlements.
