How This Centre Works

Under the SMARTPUR Project, Hadmatiya Gram Panchayat has established a SMARTPUR Centre that serves as a community-managed digital service hub. The centre provides easy access to government schemes, social protection services, digital and banking services, education, digital literacy, and livelihood-related support. It also conducts awareness programmes, digital literacy classes, and community outreach activities to improve digital inclusion and increase awareness of government entitlements.

Rajendra Kumar Vihat

He is the key person responsible for managing the SMARTPUR Centre and ensuring that quality digital and development services are delivered to the community. As a local entrepreneur, the Centre Facilitator acts as the first point of contact for citizens seeking government, financial, educational, and livelihood-related services.

Rajendra Kumar Vihat, a resident of Hadmatiya Gram Panchayat, Dungarpur, joined the SMARTPUR Project in September 2024. Before joining the project, he operated an e-Mitra and Banking Correspondent (BC) Centre with limited resources, including a single laptop and printer, earning approximately ₹8,000 per month. With support from the SMARTPUR Project, implemented by REACHA with the support of Nokia, his centre was equipped with essential infrastructure, including 24×7 power backup through a solar system and inverter, additional laptops, furniture, and other digital resources. These improvements significantly enhanced the centre's operational efficiency and enabled him to deliver a wider range of citizen-centric services. The project has had a transformative impact on both his livelihood and his family. His monthly income has increased from approximately ₹10,000 to ₹25,000–30,000, strengthening his family's financial stability. In addition, his wife was selected for a government job in March 2025, marking another significant milestone for the family. Rajendra credits the SMARTPUR Project for providing the infrastructure, continuous support, and technical guidance that not only strengthened his service centre but also improved his family's economic security, confidence, and prospects for a better future.

The primary objective of the Financial Inclusion E-Filing Camp was to strengthen access to banking and digital financial services among rural households and promote financial inclusion at the village level. The camp aimed to assist community members in accessing essential banking facilities, completing pending banking formalities, and enrolling in government-supported insurance and pension schemes.

Challenges addressed

Limited access to digital services: Residents had to travel to Aspur or Dungarpur for online government services, applications, document updates, and e-governance facilities, resulting in additional time and travel expenses. Low awareness of government schemes: Many eligible households were unaware of social protection schemes, financial inclusion programmes, and entitlement benefits, leading to low enrolment and utilisation. Digital literacy gap: Limited digital knowledge among youth, women, and elderly citizens restricted their ability to use smartphones, online platforms, and digital payment systems independently.
